|Stylistic Origins||doom/grind, sludge metal, death metal|
|Typical Instruments||electric guitar, drum machine, drums, vocals|
Sludge/grind is a variation of doom/grind that fuses blast beats with thick, sludgy guitars.
Sludge/grind differs from doom/grind in that rather than abruptly transitioning between grind and doom, songs generally consist of rapid drumming coupled with slow, thick guitars. The use of double blasts is also very common, often to emphasize vocal parts. Vocals are generally harsh, guttural growls and grunts.
Stoner/grind is a variation of sludge/grind that often uses stoner rock elements, such as flanging and phasing.
