|Stylistic Origins||doom/grind, slam death metal|
|Typical Instruments||electric guitar, bass, drums, vocals|
Slam/grind, also known as funeral grind, is a variation of doom/grind that incorperates slam riffs.
Slam/grind fuses doom/grind with elements of slam death metal. Slam riffs are used to break up chaotic grind and slow doom sections. These slower parts are often dominated by funeral slams. This is why the genre is also referred to as "funeral grind". Vocals are generally a mixture of death growls, gargles (often used in slam metal), and high shrieks.
